A new role has arisen for a highly effective leader with extensive local government experience to join us as our Director of Corporate Services.
Working directly with the CEO, this role is a fantastic opportunity for you to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our Future40 plan. There is a clear direction of travel with support for change and you will help shape and drive this transformation, working with a skilled and dedicated team.
ABOUT THE JOB
As Director of Corporate Services, you’ll support the Chief Executive with the delivery of services in line with the Council’s Four Year Plan. You’ll be responsible for shaping and transforming the long-term strategy of the Council both internally and externally. You’ll need to take a proactive approach to delivering on the authority’s plans and provide strategic leadership for the Council.
In addition to this you’ll play a key role in shaping the Council’s recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic. You’ll develop fresh ways of working, whilst also ensuring that everyone is included in the Future40 vision and feels a sense of belonging.
ABOUT YOU
It is essential that you have extensive experience of working at a senior level in local government. You’ll also have experience leading successful organisational development programmes and large-scale transformation projects. Adept at both operational and strategic leadership, you’ll oversee a wide range of service areas, so a breadth of experience across services such as HR, Governance and Policy, Finance and Legal is desirable.
Drawing on your highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrable experience of transformation, you will inspire and engage staff, members and community representatives alike. You’ll take people with you on the journey, always leading from the front, employing a high level of emotional intelligence.
