Redbridge is an ambitious diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.

An exciting opportunity has arisen due to the retirement of a member of staff, to join our Early years SEND Support Service which includes Home Visitors, Specialist Advisory Teachers and Specialist Teaching Assistants and Area SENCOs. The service provides specialist assessment, advice and support for children aged 0 to 5 with a range of special educational needs and/or disabilities within a range of PVI settings and childminders. The service support settings to deliver their statutory duties, playing a key role in maintaining and improving the quality of provision and outcomes for young children.

As an Area SENCo you will be working within PVI settings and with childminders providing assessment, advice and support for young children with SEND. In addition, you will be working in partnership with team members to design and deliver training packages to early years settings, which may involve some out of hours work.

Candidates are invited to contact Robert Stodell,  Specialist Advisory Teacher and Area SENCo Team Lead at Robert.stodell@redbridge.gov.uk or Jenni Braysher, EYSENDSS Team Manager at jenni.braysher@redbridge.gov.uk with any questions about the role prior to application.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday 6th August 2025.

This is for a September 2025 start.

To apply for this post please complete the online application form and attach your CV and a Covering Letter addressing how you meet the criteria for the role as stated in the person specification.

All short-listed applicants will need to demonstrate proof of right to work in the UK.

We are committed to employment practices that promote diversity and inclusion in employment and welcome applications from qualified applicants regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sex, marriage and civil partnership status, pregnancy and maternity status, colour, race, religion, or belief
