Inspection Service
The Commissioning Alliance delivers a pan-London housing standards & inspection service which regularly inspects Temporary Accommodation, focusing on Bed & Breakfasts and Studio Apartments which are used to house vulnerable people/families.
The aim of this service is to ensure quality across the sector and to ensure the standard of accommodation meets minimum standards. 29 London Boroughs established the programme – initiated by the London Housing Directors’ Group and is delivered by the Commissioning Alliance.
StS Inspection Officer’s role is to inspect TA properties and work with accommodation providers to ensure that property conditions and standards are improved, maintained, and award a StS Grade to the London-wide agreed standard.
The purpose of the service is to ensure that properties are safe and suitable for occupation by homeless families and vulnerable individuals. Officers are expected to develop and maintain relationships with Local Authorities and Accommodation Providers.
Applicants should have experience of inspecting properties, including HMOs, have an excellent knowledge of management standards. Candidates should ideally be from a Local Authority Private Sector Housing background or similar.
You must have the right to work in the UK. Evidence for the right to work in the UK will be requested at the interview stage.

This is full time post, applicants are expected to work a 35-hour week, with scope for some flexibility.
