We are seeking ambitious, outstanding candidates to join our teaching staff at United Colleges Group. We are a forward-thinking education provider and our mission is to deliver outstanding, world class education and skills. 

United Colleges Group, formed in 2017, has continued to provide strong education and skills support to the 16,000 learners who we serve every year. We have around 1,000 dedicated, skilled and enthusiastic staff who always put the needs of our students first and we are now looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join our cohort of dedicated staff.

Our mission is to provide all our learners with the very best knowledge and to break down any barriers to learning. We pride ourselves on enabling our learners to work ‘individually’ in ‘true to life’ situations. We deliver a learning experience that is unique, enjoyable and rewarding.

The Learning Support Assistant will be working on Supported Internships as a floating LSA across up to 4 different locations.  You will be supporting young adults with learning difficulties and/ or disabilities to work towards employment.

The successful candidate must be willing to fully participate in activities alongside the students and support them in all lessons and work placements. You may need to support students with behavioural and mental health issues, mobility issues or other health needs.  You will be supporting them in both the classroom and work environments where you will need to be able to communicate effectively with a range of professionals. You may be need to carry out travel training with learners as required.

UCG are looking for individuals who have the ability to remain calm under pressure and be patient and maintain a positive attitude towards students, with an understanding of procedures for safeguarding young people and vulnerable adults.

You will have good communication skills including the ability to use clear language and communicate and listen effectively, also to provide an excellent level of additional support to individuals and groups of students on the autistic spectrum, with profound and complex needs or with challenging behaviour needs. You will have the opportunity to under go training and develop specialist practice.
