Are you interested in bringing your communication and project skills to an organisation that plays a vital role in the democratic process?

The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections and encourages people to register to vote.

The successful candidate

We are looking for a proactive and skilled professional to help coordinate with a wide variety of tasks. This is a genuine opportunity to develop, particularly in the fields of planning and project/performance/benefit management. This is a great time to join the Planning and Performance Team at the Commission.

The role will provide support internally to our Project Managers and the Planning and Performance Team and will involve helping to deliver project management and performance system training to improve skills across the organisation. The role will also provide support for our internal audit recommendation programme of work.

Role Requirements

Ideally the candidate will have a good academic record, some experience in a project or performance environment and should either have or be willing to work towards a qualification in this area. Will be required to provide minutes for the PMO and Performance meetings.

They should be able to evidence their ability to make things happen and to take responsibility when they are given the opportunity. The role requires proficient IT skills – proven experience of using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and some experience of MS Project would be helpful but training will be given. Ultimately being quick to learn, proactive and with a desire to add value are the key requirements of the role.
