Support Worker (scale 6)

A vacancy has arisen for 3 permanent full-time positions for Support Workers, [one at Leyton Green Road short break centre for children with disabilities and one for residential service for children with disabilities]

The ideal candidates must have at least one years’ experience of working with children and young people with disabilities, be able to work directly with children and young people as part of a team to achieve the aims set for the service within the policy of the Local Authority. The successful persons will
also be required to work 36 hours per week, including Saturdays and Sundays on shift work and occasional sleep-ins if required in short break service and approximately 1 sleep-in each week in the residential service, plus working some bank holidays.

The ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge of and issues relating to children and young people with disabilities; ability to work under regular supervision and ability to work effectively under pressure. They must have effective communication both orally and written, and good .

The successful applicants will also possess CWDC Diploma/NVQ level 3 (children and Young People) or equivalent
