PRINCIPAL PLANNING OFFICER

A fantastic new opportunity has opened up at Uttlesford District Council for an enthusiastic, experienced Principal Planning Officer to join our Service.


ABOUT THE JOB

We are dedicated to achieving quality place making outcomes for the communities which will be created in our District. This role will be demanding yet varied and rewarding. The role will work towards providing development which has taken into consideration the need to address climate change, as well as affordability and infrastructure needs.


The postholder will be a key member of the team, taking responsibility for their own caseload as well as contributing to the development management team. You will lead on major planning applications and will have substantial experience in planning performance agreements, pre-application discussions, processing planning applications, negotiating s106 agreements and provide excellent customer service.

ABOUT YOU

In order to succeed in this role, you’ll have excellent interpersonal and IT skills. You will also have a confident methodical and organised approach to your workload, be calm under pressure with the ability to work to strict deadlines. Please note that in order to be considered for this position you will need to be a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute and have comprehensive knowledge of working in a Local Planning Authority, as well as access to your own vehicle.
