Secondary SENCO

Part time – 2 days a week, possibility of 3 days (this post is not suitable for NQT’s)

MPS-UPS TLR 0.2 1C (£5,080) 

We are looking to appoint a Secondary SENCO, 2 days a week, to work alongside our present experienced SENCO, who works 3 days a week.  There will be some teaching responsibilities associated with this position. 

We are seeking an inspirational and passionate teacher who understands and believes in the importance of an Inclusive Education. We are looking for a qualified, effective and ambitious leader who is committed to raising standards of all students, especially those with SEND. The successful candidate will help lead our SEND Secondary Provision, which includes an established Speech and Language Resource Provision, that supports students with a range of additional needs, to access the mainstream curriculum.  

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership of this area but also work alongside colleagues, providing practical support for learning, educational activities, professional development, developing social skills and securing students’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing.

The candidate will be experienced in managing, organising and supporting pupils with SEND. They must be knowledgeable of, and committed to, promoting inclusive practice and driving improvement. They must have a proven record of improving pupil’s outcomes. The candidate must have the National Award for Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator or be committed to undertaking this when starting at Buxton School.
