The role
The post holder with manage the design and delivery of a range of projects as part of Camden Council’s high-profile STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) programme, with a focus on supporting schools to strategically implement a whole-school STEAM approach. This is an exciting time to join a growing team to expand and embed the success of our first year of delivery.
A core part of the role is the management of the Camden STEAM Hub Leadership Programme, an innovative school development programme that trains middle and senior leaders develop a STEAM approach at a curriculum- and whole-school-level. After a highly successful first year of delivery, the programme is growing its membership from 21 schools to 40 schools (approx. 70-80 schools leaders from Primary and Secondary Schools across Camden), and the post holder will play a key role in the successful expansion of the programme and in maintaining strong relationships with our family of schools.
Other key elements of the role include setting up a STEAM/Careers Governor training programme, leading on school-facing communications, and feeding into the development of Camden’s longer term STEAM strategy.
About you
To be considered for this post, you will:
- Be a qualified teacher, or have strong experience working in the education sector, with a strong understanding of the school system and wider education sector.
- Have experience in designing high-quality programmes for adult learners (ideally teachers).
- Be able and willing to quickly upskill and gain strong expertise in STEAM, with support from the team.
- Possess excellent facilitation and presenting skills. Able to confidently deliver material to groups of adult learners leading to high-quality learning outcomes.
- Have previous project and/or programme management exposure. Highly organised and able to manage multi-layered programmes and numerous stakeholders, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills – able to gain trust and build strong relationships with varied stakeholders, particularly teachers.
- Have the ability to work proactively, creatively and flexibly, responding to evidence and needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess excellent communication, diplomacy and influencing skills that can be used at a range of levels including school leaders, business leaders, and Council members.
- Possess excellent written communication skills – able to write high-quality, engaging content for a range of audiences.
