Camden is listening to everyone, including you.

We’re giving a platform to people inside and outside our community. Because, we’re not just home to the UK’s fast-growing economy. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today. And we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.

Are you looking to work in an innovative Educational Psychology team in a Central London borough?

Camden Educational Psychology Service (EPS) is looking for a HCPC registered Educational Psychologist to join our innovative, vibrant and creative workforce. We have expanded following a successful bid to enhance the level of psychological support for school staff and families with children and young people up to age 25 as we transition back to ‘on-site’ education, but one of our fixed term staff has left London and working closer to her new home. We are seeking to ensure we can continue to deliver a service through the broad range of secondments and wellbeing programme in a variety of settings, including schools.

At Camden we are a welcoming, well respected, dedicated, and skilled group of practitioners who work collaboratively to support the progress of the most vulnerable children and young people in the borough. We offer excellent CPD opportunities and work in partnership with CAMHS, Early Help, Social Care and health teams supporting children borough-wide and beyond. You will be able to develop your skills Dynamic Assessment, VIG, VERP, and technology based assessment using Q-interactive.

You will work at different levels, from individual children and young people to supporting strategic developments at a borough wide level.  The service supports a range of wellbeing initiatives and supports settings to enhance their Trauma Informed Practice.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Enhanced DBS.

To be considered for this post it is essential that you hold a qualification in Educational Psychology (e.g. Doctorate or Masters), which permits Graduate Registration with the British Psychological Society, alongside a current HCPC Registration. The post will start from 1st January 2021 or as soon as is possible after that date, and therefore on this occasion we are unable to recruit trainees still completing their training.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of psychological frameworks and their application in a range of contexts, across the 0 – 25 age range. They will feel confident working in a range of community settings. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of SEND and Equalities legislation and a sound knowledge of children's psychological development, together with skills and experience in delivery of psychological interventions. They will also contribute skills in consultation, assessment and supporting settings to deliver interventions and review outcomes for vulnerable children, including those with SEN and Disabilities and children who are Looked After.

We’re ready to welcome your ideas, your views, and your rebellious spirit. Help us redefine how we’re supporting people, and we’ll redefine what a career can be. If that sounds good to you, we’d love to talk.
