About us
At Camden, we’re building a borough where everyone can thrive. We want Camden to be the best place to live, work, study and visit, and we’re proud of our vibrant communities and strong partnerships. Our Public Safety Division plays a vital role in ensuring that everyone feels safe in their homes and neighbourhoods. Through collaboration and community engagement, we work to reduce anti-social behaviour and environmental crime, helping to make Camden a cleaner, safer and more welcoming place for all.

The role
As a Community Safety Enforcement Officer, you will play an active role in supporting local communities and tackling anti-social behaviour and environmental crime. You will work closely with residents, businesses and partner organisations to identify and resolve issues that affect the quality of life in Camden.

This is a highly visible, community-based role where you will undertake patrols, engage directly with citizens, and use a range of enforcement powers and interventions where necessary. You will investigate complaints about issues such as littering, fly-tipping and graffiti, and prepare evidence and case files to support legal action when appropriate. You will also contribute to wider community safety initiatives linked to priorities such as drug misuse, serious violence and violence against women and girls.

Flexibility is essential, as some work will take place outside of standard office hours to meet the needs of the service and the community.

About you
We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in Camden. You will be committed to community engagement and have experience of working in an enforcement or community safety setting. You will have a good understanding of the legislation and policies that relate to anti-social behaviour and environmental issues, and be confident in using your knowledge to advise and support others.

You will be an effective communicator who can build trust with residents and partners, handle challenging situations professionally, and find practical solutions to local problems. You will also share our values of equality, inclusion and collaboration, and be open to new ideas and ways of working to deliver the best outcomes for our communities.
