Heat Network Officer
Help Brent to manage and grow its low carbon heat networks
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team managing and delivering low carbon heat networks in the borough.
Brent currently operates over 2,000 customer heat connections which is projected to exceed 4,000 by 2028. Heat networks will play a significant role in helping the council to achieve its net zero ambitions.
The post will play a key role in ensuring that Brent Council achieves and maintains compliance with the Heat Network Regulations, including consumer protection requirements, technical standards under the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS) and Heat Network Zoning requirements.
The post will lead on a variety of strategic, policy and operational workstreams relating to heat networks owned by or providing heat to Brent Council.
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable individual with a strong record of developing and implementing effective policies and processes, preferably within a housing context. You should demonstrate a commitment to service improvement and a focus on the needs of end-users.
You will bring, or be prepared to rapidly develop, a good understanding of heat networks, relevant regulations, and consumer protection principles.
You will also have experience of working with cross-functional teams and with technical consultants and contractors, and will be confident in navigating the requirements in a local government setting.
