Essex County Council are looking for a Strategic Resourcing Partner (SRP) to lead the way in delivering innovative, customer-centric resourcing initiatives across our organisation. This is a high-impact role, working closely with senior leaders including political leadership to ensure our workforce is fit for today and ready for tomorrow.
This is a part time, job share position, for 17 hours per week across the following days:
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday
About the Role
As an SRP you will be aligned to support our Children & Families and Education functions and be an absolute subject matter expert on resourcing. You will work with stakeholders up to and including political leadership level, holding full responsibly for strategic resourcing plans and delivery, as well as having a solid grasp on the operational needs of the customer and acting as a point of escalation for the delivery teams.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead strategic and operational resourcing for your functions, acting as the senior resourcing expert.
- Develop and deliver resourcing plans, workforce strategies, and future talent pipelines.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including People Business Partners, elected Members, and the People & Organisation Development leadership team.
- Champion diversity and inclusion in recruitment, working closely with our D&I lead.
- Drive innovation in recruitment campaigns, psychometric testing, and assessments.
- Use data and market insight to inform decision-making and present monthly management information at Leadership Team level.
- Own the candidate experience - from employer brand awareness to onboarding.
- Lead executive and member-level recruitment, ensuring excellence at every stage.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
We're looking for an experienced recruitment professional who will bring:
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent experience) with a strong commitment to continuous professional development.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to deliver operational excellence.
- Brilliant organisational and practical skills, with the ability to seek resolution to queries through self-service.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- An appetite to self-develop and learn.
- Deep knowledge of recruitment legislation, public sector trends, and market insight.
- Resilience, adaptability, and a passion for driving change.
