Hackney is a proud, vibrant, and diverse London borough, recognised for its dynamic economy, excellent amenities, and award-winning sustainable regeneration, particularly in housing development.

Hackney Council is undertaking an ambitious programme to build over 3,000 new homes in the next decade across various housing types, including specialist and emergency accommodation. Our Housing Regeneration and Delivery teams manage the entire development lifecycle, from site briefs and architect selection to design and contractor procurement. We have received prestigious awards for our housing schemes, lauded by critics for our commitment to good design and resident engagement.

The successful candidate will have senior leadership experience in property development, demonstrating commercial, technical, and regulatory knowledge, and a strong track record in delivering complex, high-profile housing regeneration schemes.

An agile leadership style, outcome focused mindset, and a commitment to nurturing a high performing, innovative culture are essential. Awareness of public procurement principles is desirable. Candidates must have a strong understanding of technical and legal matters in land and property development and a proven ability to negotiate and influence partners and colleagues to deliver initiatives at pace and scale.
