Summary

What you'll do

As a Rent Assistant at Notting Hill Genesis, you will help ensure our rent setting processes are accurate, transparent, and compliant with regulatory and statutory requirements. Working within the Rents Compliance & Operations Team, you'll play a key role in calculating new rents, supporting annual rent reviews, and ensuring residents receive timely and clear communications. Your work will help maximise income for NHG while supporting our commitment to excellent customer service.

How you'll do it

  • Apply regulatory and statutory rent rules to set rents and respond to queries.
  • Accurately set up rent elements and accounts on internal systems.
  • Calculate rent levels in line with NHG's rent and lettings policies.
  • Create barcodes to enable residents to pay rent from the start of their tenancy.
  • Support the annual rent review, rent budget, and rent statement processes.
  • Assist with improvement projects focused on automation and process enhancement.
  • Manage regulated and non-regulated rents, ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Respond to queries via the team inbox in line with service level agreements.
  • Produce high-quality reports and presentations when required.

The ideal candidate

Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.

Essential:

  • Experience in the affordable housing sector and understanding of the rent standard and related legislation.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience working with complex data from multiple sources.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presenting to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and report on monitoring tools to ensure compliance.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory rules around rent setting.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the housing sector and understanding of the rent standard and related legislation.
  • Experience using Northgate system
