Senior Commercial Sales Officer
About the Role
Tower Hamlets is seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Senior Commercial Sales Officer to lead our sales operations (approximately £4m revenue per annum) and drive growth across the borough. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for managing a team of three Sales Officers, each covering distinct geographical patches, and for owning and delivering the commercial waste sales strategy.
As well as motivating and leading the sales team in the delivery of the sales strategy you will own the development and performance of our bin hire product, manage key relationships with managing agents, and ensure our commercial waste services meet the evolving needs of businesses across Tower Hamlets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of three Sales Officers, providing strategic direction and support across varied geographical areas.
- Develop and implement the commercial waste sales strategy, aligned with service growth and customer retention goals.
- Own and optimise the bin hire product, ensuring competitive pricing, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with managing agents and commercial clients to support long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer experience.
- Monitor sales performance, identify opportunities for growth, and report on KPIs and market trends.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement in commercial waste services.
About You
You will bring:
- Proven experience in commercial sales, ideally within waste management or a related field.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing sales teams and driving performance.
- Excellent relationship management and negotiation skills.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to translate business goals into actionable plans.
- A relevant degree and/or professional qualification, or at least 3 years of relevant experience.
