About Camden
At Camden, we’re building somewhere everyone can thrive. We want our borough to be the best place to live, work, study, and visit. We’re home to bold ideas and radical social change – and we’re making sure no one gets left behind. Join us and you’ll help shape a better future for everyone.
The role
We’re looking for a skilled Heating Installation and Wet Works Engineer to join our in-house team. You’ll play a vital role in keeping Camden’s homes safe, warm, and energy-efficient.
In this role, you’ll install and commission boilers, heating systems, hot water cylinders, radiators, and controls. You’ll also carry out remedial works and some reactive repairs, ensuring all installations meet legislation, regulations, and Camden’s high standards.
You’ll work directly with residents, explaining systems clearly and supporting them to use their heating efficiently. This is hands-on, meaningful work where your skills will have a real impact every day.
What you’ll do
-
Install and commission domestic heating systems, including pipework and controls.
-
Complete remedial works and minor making good.
-
Carry out system testing, flushing, and certification.
-
Provide excellent resident support and guidance.
-
Maintain accurate records and compliance documentation.
-
Deliver some reactive repairs when required.
-
Work closely with colleagues across housing, planning, and compliance.
-
Keep up to date with emerging renewable technologies, such as air source heat pumps, to support Camden’s sustainability goals.
About you
You’ll bring technical expertise, pride in your work, and a commitment to excellent service. We’re looking for someone with:
-
At least 5 years’ experience in heating installation and wet works.
-
A strong knowledge of domestic heating systems and safety standards.
-
City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering (or equivalent).
-
ACS qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, and UVHW.
-
The ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
-
Experience producing accurate reports and documentation.
-
Great communication skills, with the ability to support residents in a clear, respectful way.
It would also be an advantage if you have experience in social housing, knowledge of water regulations, or training in renewable heating systems.
