We are seeking dynamic and flexible Additional Learning Support Assistants with a passion for lifelong learning to support the adult learning provision across the Borough of Newham
About the Job
You will assist and contribute to the educational development and pastoral support on programs of social inclusion for adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a range of formal and informal settings.
You will support the education and training of adults and share in the collective responsibility for the engagement of adults with special educational needs and disabilities attending ONLS Adult Education programmes, as directed by key specialist Tutors.
You will be expected to support access arrangements in an examination setting for those with SEND, as well as deliver workshops and training for students where need be.
About You
A relevant qualification in SEND and / or qualified by experience.
Sufficient knowledge of relevant computer applications in order to teach skills on a basic level.
Skills/experience of working with adults with special educational needs and disabilities, together with an understanding of the unique problems faced by this client group.
Willingness to undertake training related to the job as and when required. You may be required to work in the evening.
Skills/experience in devising individual training plans and recording student’s progress in line with regular reviews.
Ability to develop training materials including handouts in a clear and understandable manner.
