About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Advanced Social Work Practitioner to join our dynamic Child Protection and Children in Need Team. In this pivotal role, you will manage the most complex and high-risk cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. You will also act as a mentor and consultant to colleagues, and represent the service, play a key role in supporting the Team Manager by role modelling best practice and providing supervision to social workers. You will act as a subject matter expert in responding to the needs of children and their families, ensuring that interventions are timely, effective, and child-centred. A crucial part of your role will be to assist in overseeing the quality of practice and performance across the team, helping to ensure that children who need help and protection experience safe, consistent
support and make meaningful progress.

About you
You will be a qualified and registered social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience in statutory children’s services. You will have a proven track record of managing complex cases, delivering high-quality assessments and interventions, and working effectively with multi-agency partners. Your ability to lead, mentor, and inspire others will be key, as will your in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, child development, and best practice in safeguarding.
