An excellent opportunity has arisen in the Private Sector Housing Enforcement Team.  We are looking for keen, enthusiastic, and experienced Housing Enforcement Officers, who will complement and add value to our existing skilled workforce.

 

The Career Grade operates as follows:

Level 1 - Housing Enforcement Officer - LBR 10 £42,324 to £44,331

Level 2 - Senior Housing Enforcement Officer - LBR 11 £44,331 to £47,532

Level 3 - Specialist Housing Enforcement Officer - LBR 12 £47,532 to £50,574

 

The Private Sector Housing Team is part of the Consumer Protection and Licensing Directorate of Civic Pride.

 

As a Housing Enforcement Officer, you will investigate poor conditions in the Private Rented Sector. You will respond to service requests from residents, take part in pro-active enforcement action and also deal with licensing of houses in multiple occupation.  The role will demand knowledge of Housing legislation, enforcement procedures and casework, HHSRS and guidance.

 

The successful applicant is likely to have worked in a local authority Environmental Health and Housing setting for a couple of years and will be able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience of associated statutory and regulatory functions.

 

The post holder is required to drive in the course of their duties and the candidate must have a valid driving licence and use of own vehicle with appropriate insurance for work. This post meets the criteria for Essential Car User therefore a car user allowance would be payable. Reasonable adjustments will be considered for disabled candidates. 

 

This post has been designated as safety critical in accordance with the Council's Alcohol, Drugs and Substance Misuse Policy.
