About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind.  Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all. This role includes the coordination and support of local Trading Standards activity to enforce legislation and disrupt behaviour in relation to illegal tobacco sales.

What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved

As a Regional Tobacco Control Officer, you will be at the forefront of combating illegal tobacco activities within London region. Your role involves leading technical operations, supporting local Trading Standards officers across London, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. You will build and maintain strong relationships with law enforcement agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders to coordinate efforts and achieve positive outcomes against illegal tobacco supply. Whilst hosted within Camden, you will work operationally across London and join any London Borough for operations within those Boroughs.

By raising awareness and providing training, you will enhance local enforcement capabilities and champion the importance of tackling illegal tobacco at the community level. Acting as a key liaison between various agencies, you will facilitate the sharing of intelligence, communicate new initiatives, and ensure accurate data reporting. Your efforts will contribute significantly to the national strategy against illegal tobacco, making a real difference in public health and safety.
