Brent is a tremendously vibrant London borough where the iconic arch of Wembley Stadium dominates the skyline. Spanning both inner and outer London, it is a borough of huge contrasts in terms of its economic, environmental, ethnic and social make up. Brent’s diversity is evident to all who visit our borough and our long history of ethnic and cultural diversity has created a place that is truly unique and valued by those who live and work here.

The council is pursuing a far-reaching transformation agenda that better meets the needs of our community so it is an exciting time to join us.

The Opportunity: Temporary Accommodation & Housing Resolutions Service Lead

We’re looking for an experienced and driven leader to head our Temporary Accommodation & Housing Resolutions Service. In this key leadership role, you’ll manage the service that supports homeless households in temporary accommodation—providing expert advice, tailored support, and pathways into settled, long-term housing.
You’ll lead the operational delivery of the council’s statutory housing duties, reduce our reliance on temporary accommodation, and ensure that every household receives the support they need to rebuild their lives. This is a high-impact role where your leadership will directly improve outcomes for vulnerable residents.

Key responsibilities include:
•    Managing service delivery, quality assurance, and performance across the team
•    Overseeing complex homelessness casework in line with statutory frameworks
•    Driving forward policy and service improvements that lead to sustainable housing outcomes
•    Leading budget management and effective use of resources
•    Working with internal and external stakeholders—including voluntary sector partners—to deliver joined-up solutions

The Person

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader with extensive knowledge of homelessness legislation, move-on strategies, and appropriate pathways for homeless households.

•    You will have a strong track record of managing high-performing teams in homelessness services, implementing policy changes, and improving service delivery.

•    You will be confident in your experience and knowledge and be able to use this to support and lead your team to feel empowered within their roles so they can deliver a seamless and supportive service to our residents by proactively engaging with them, taking a holistic approach to resolve their homelessness.

•    You are confident in handling complex legal cases, engaging with stakeholders at all levels, and driving innovation in resolving homelessness. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential, along with the ability to influence and collaborate to achieve positive housing outcomes.

•    You will have a passion for what we do, and an understanding of the multiple needs that our residents may have, and able to provide a solutions based approach in your work.

This role is perfect for someone who is determined, highly resilient, takes pride in their work, and is able to motivate diverse teams.

Why Brent?
Join us and you’ll be part of a council that values ambition, innovation, and making a real difference. We offer:

•    A workplace that embraces diversity, inclusion, and employee wellbeing
