What you'll do

Notting Hill Genesis, one of London's largest housing associations, are seek an Analytics Engineer to join our thriving Information, Systems & Change team. As an Analytics Engineer, you'll transform raw data into actionable insights that drive NHG's mission to create thriving communities. You'll design data solutions that enhance decision-making, improve resident services, and ensure operational efficiency. Your work will directly impact how NHG manages housing data, empowering teams to deliver better outcomes for our of residents.

How you'll do it

  • Build and maintain robust ETL processes using Azure services (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks) to ingest, cleanse, and transform data for analytical use cases.
  • Own NHG's Power BI platform, optimising its security, performance, and structure to deliver intuitive dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop data products aligned with business goals, applying medallion architecture to create enterprise-grade datasets.
  • Implement rigorous testing and monitoring to ensure data accuracy, uptime, and compliance with ethical and privacy standards.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical audiences, fostering trust in NHG's data-driven strategies.

We're seeking an Analytics Engineer who blends technical expertise with a passion for social impact. You'll bring:

Essential:

  • A BSc in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related field (or a diploma in a relevant field).
  • Proficiency in Azure data services (Data Lake, SQL Database, Synapse) and SQL, with experience designing data pipelines and medallion architectures.
  • Hands-on experience managing Power BI implementations and troubleshooting data transformation processes.

Desirable:

  • Experience in agile project management practices
  • Good awareness of acceptance testing, data management, database administration and design
  • Good awareness of technology management such as release and deployment.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git for collaboration and code management
