What you’ll be doing:

As the Deputy Headteacher of Arc School Ansley, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring the school community with passion and purpose, driving school improvement forward through shaping and delivering an outstanding curriculum and offer.

Your role will encompass curriculum design, assessing its effectiveness, driving forward the quality of teaching and learning, and all elements of staff support and training. You will join a vibrant, friendly, highly effective staff team who are committed to strive for exceptional standards and keen to further increase their considerable skill set and capacity. You will have a pupil centred view of education and will be able to demonstrate the skills to build excellent relationships, whilst insisting on high aspiration and ensuring the highest standards.

About you

You will be an experienced school leader with a passion for supporting young people to learn and develop. You will ideally have a strong background in special education and working with children with complex needs.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications: QTS/QTLS, Degree. A qualification in SEND education is desirable.
  • Experience:
    • Proven leadership and management experience in a school setting.
    • A track record of successfully supporting schools through Ofsted inspections and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Experience in curriculum development, behaviour management strategies, and staff development.
    • Experience of working with therapeutic teams to support pupils' holistic development.
  • Skills & Knowledge:
    • A solid understanding of ASC and associated needs.
    • The ability to work strategically as part of the senior leadership team.
    • An ability to develop and deliver a diverse school offer which meets the needs of all pupils.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, resilience and a positive attitude.
    • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Opened in 2014, Arc School Ansley is an independent specialist day school in Ansley, a lovely small village, for children and young people aged between 11 and 17.

Our experienced team is dedicated to providing outstanding education to children and young people a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, who may have many associated needs such as; social, emotional and mental health needs, communication needs and cognition and learning needs.

Arc School Ansley is part of Kedleston Group. We specialise in providing specialist education and care for children aged 7-19 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). These include autistic spectrum condition (ASC), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and social emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
