Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the city.

The successful candidate will not only oversee the Leadership Support function for the Council and manage the Executive Support Team, they will play a key role working across the organisation.

Responsibilities will be:

  • To oversee the provision of executive support to the Chief Executive and ELT and provide leadership and line management and leadership to the Executive Support Team.
  • To establish a casework function for the Chief Executive’s office and ensure the effective handling of all enquiries and complaints received by all means of communication, including the oversight of office systems.
  • To work with a high degree of autonomy and initiative, independently providing full executive support, including briefings, research, complex drafting, special projects and the production of internal and external presentations.
  • To work in conjunction with internal support teams to ensure effective communication with members, ELT, partners and other stakeholders.
