About the role
United Colleges Group is committed to providing a high quality of teaching and learning. We have a vibrant and growing cohort of 16 to 18 year old students studying vocational programmes.
The Student Support Officer will work as part of the safeguarding team, to support and assist the Safeguarding Leads to implement and deliver safeguarding and to ensure full compliance with legislation, regulation and best practice.
You will the first point of contact for staff and others to provide advice, guidance, co-ordinate and case manage safeguarding concerns.
Support risk assessments related to potential safeguarding concerns to ensure that student welfare and wellbeing are supported adequately and appropriately.
The successful candidate will have a passion for working with young people as well as excellent communication and organisational skills. You must have good IT and numeracy skills, be prepared to work flexibly, have the ability to use your own initiative and work with a minimum of direct supervision. Most importantly you must be able to inspire and motivate young people.
