We offer a 35 hour week with the option to earn flexi time and approximately 6 weeks paid holiday depending on your public service experience.
Role Purpose
As a Health and Safety Advisor, use your skills and experience to support and advise on health and safety compliance across all Council Services and activities, carry out audits, inspections, accident investigations and complaints. Develop and review policies and procedures for health, safety and welfare across the Council.
Key Responsibilities
Provide a comprehensive health and safety advisory and support service to the Council with regards to all strategic and operational issues, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements for health, safety and welfare.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience of working at a senior level within a health and safety unit in a large organisation. As a minimum to have achieved the NEBOSH Diploma part 2, or NVQ level 4 or 5 in Occupational Health and Safety, or first degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management etc. and thereby hold Chartered membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) Or to hold the EHORB registration certificate.
