After School Club Assistant
Scale: Grade 1/2 Point 2-5
Hours: 12.5 hours per week / 38 weeks per year 3.15pm - 5.45pm daily term time only
Salary: Pro rata salary of £7,957 - £8,300 p.a. (FTE £27,345 - £28,521 p.a.)
Contract: Fixed term contract until 20th July 2025

The children, staff and governors of Squirrels Heath Junior School are looking to appoint an After School Club Assistant who has experience of working with pupils in a school setting.
The role includes:-
- The transition of children from their class to the Wrap Around Care club
- Supervising the children, ensuring their safety at all times
- Setting up activities for the children to take part in
- Preparing food and supervising the children whilst they eat
- Maintaining a safe and happy environment for the children, engaging with them through play and activities
- To ensure the safe handover of each child to the appropriate adult at the end of the session

The successful applicant will:
- Have achieved at least Grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths
- Hold or working towards NVQ Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or similar
- Be enthusiastic about working with children and have experience working in a school setting
- Be a committed and flexible team player who is able to work well with others and share ideas
- Be an ambitious person who is keen to develop their own expertise and who has the desire to achieve
- Be willing and able to undertake any further training to support the role, e.g. Food Hygiene training, First Aid and Safeguarding Training
