Advert for Housing Supply Officer Only

Housing Supply Officer (Grade I to K, £42,855 to £54,135) - Permanent post

Tower Hamlets Council is looking for a passionate and collaborative housing professional to join the Housing Supply Team on a permanent basis, to help take forward a range of projects to increase the supply of new housing in the borough.

The Council has an ambitious target of 1,000 affordable homes a year for rent. The Housing Supply team contributes to this through the development of Council owned sites, regeneration of our estates, and enabling Housing Associations and developers to deliver their own regeneration schemes. Our delivery programme has been running for 8 years, with 10 sites currently under construction and many more in the design and planning stages.

We are looking for enthusiastic and aspiring professionals, with relevant experience in housing regeneration from conception to handover. You will take a lead as the Council’s Housing Client in liaison with the Capital Delivery Team and have proven ability and experience in the following areas: site identification and assembly; engaging residents; planning applications; procuring and managing technical consultants, housing design and construction; financial appraisal and viability; building regulations and sustainability.

In addition, you will have knowledge of: preparing bids for funding, writing briefing papers, governance processes, budget monitoring, liaison with key stakeholders and funders, delivery teams and developers.

For any questions about this role, please contact:

Tower Hamlets vision for our borough is that: people are aspirational, independent and have equal access to opportunities; we are a borough that our residents are proud of and love to live in; and we are a dynamic, outcomes-based council using digital innovation and partnership working to respond to the changing needs of our borough. We want people who aspire to our TOWER values: Together; Open; Willing; Excellent; Respect.

Tower Hamlets has a zero-tolerance approach to, and works to eradicate, all forms of discrimination on the basis of race, sex, disability, age, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, marital status, status as a civil partner, gender, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy and maternity and looks to employ a diverse workforce representative of those groups. We recognise that people can also be disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances, so we will work to eliminate discrimination and disadvantage caused by social class.

We welcome applicants interested in flexible working arrangements and also applicants who live in the borough.
