Governors of this happy and successful school are seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Administrative Assistant to join our friendly office team. You will be the first point of contact for the school and should have excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability work under pressure. This is a busy office and the successful candidate must be flexible and able to multi task.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Provide a welcoming and helpful frontline service to all visitors of the school and ensure that visitors are not kept waiting while non-urgent tasks are worked on.
  • Be familiar with all policies and procedures that are relevant for the role.
  • Responsible for school administration, communication and maintaining all appropriate records, databases, disseminating information, reprographics and filing.
  • Be able to manage workload appropriately during the school day and complete tasks and duties within expected timescales with minimal supervision.
  • Able to demonstrate a good standard of grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • Understand your role in safeguarding and act on any safeguarding issues in accordance with school procedures.
  • Good IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft office, Arbor and Google drive. Be able to use relevant software packages efficiently and effectively to access, manage, retrieve and share the various types of information required by the post holder’s specific role.
  • Be able to competently use all items of office equipment, such as the photocopier, and keep up to date with developments and changes to such equipment.
  • Maintain and follow safe secure door entry system.
  • To maintain appropriate pupil and staff records, producing information returns and statistics as required.
  • Follow all processes meticulously for the processing of money and ensure receipts are provided for money relating to school trips, staff meals and any other event.
  • Be the lead on admissions and maintaining pupil records and pupil transfers.
