At the heart of our school’s ‘Life in all its fullness’ vision is our desire to create an Inclusive school where children with additional needs can find their place. In September 2022 we were awarded ‘Centre of Excellence’ status by the Inclusion Quality Mark and we are incredibly excited for the next step of our Inclusion provision journey, with the opening of our SEND Unit earlier this year, in January 2024, for children with ASD/Social Communication needs.
Our SEND Unit is a newly-built, well-resoured, 12 place provision for ASD pupils. The purpose of the provision is to provide bespoke support for pupils and provide opportunities for the children to access the mainstream curriculum as appropriate.
As our final intake begins, we are seeking a teaching assistant who shares our vision and passion for Inclusion, with expertise in supporting pupils, with a range of additional needs, particularly ASD and social communication difficulties. The teaching assistant will work alongside a highly skilled, motivated and friendly team, led by our SEND Unit Teacher and our Assistant Headteacher for Inclusion, in developing our new ARP, sharing their strong SEND knowledge.
