About the role:

We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Commissioning Officer to provide administrative and coordination support services to our friendly, dynamic and high functioning team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in project management, general administration, and stakeholder engagement activities. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders. The role would be of particular interest to anyone who likes working in a fast paced environment and has an interest in the areas integrated commissioning. This is a great opportunity to get involved in a breadth of areas supporting with the commissioning and co-ordination of the system in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to provide and coordinate administrative and support services; including for example, the preparation of agendas and minutes, taking appropriate follow-up action as required.
  • Supporting the team with the management of projects, contracts and initiatives, gathering information and undertaking enquires as and when is necessary for the head of department, teams and the department
  • Administrating communication and support processes including engagement with stakeholders, practices and support processes
  • Support projects, procurements, or improvement programmes, and contribute to the delivery of larger programmes of work.
  • Identify and contribute to the interpretation of issues, trends and problems, which may have a broad impact both within LBWF, WEL CCGs and for partner organisations, helping with the resolution of these as appropriate and escalating complex problems if necessary.
  • Advise supplier relationship managers, integrated commissioning mangers, and heads of integrated commissioning on issues relevant to the service area. Contributing to professional challenge and advice to colleagues, managers and partner organisations.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of continuous improvements in all aspects of the commissioning activity.
  • Communicate effectively with internal / external organisations / partners and stakeholders to represent integrated commissioning internally and externally
  • Contribute to the preparation and presentation of a full range of reports (both standard and non-standard) covering area of responsibility.
  • Be a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally

Qualifications and Requirements:

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Relevant experience of public sector and/or provider services
  • Understanding of quality and performance in the context of health, social care and/or public sector commissioning.
  • Experience of working with external care providers
  • Understanding of relevant legislative and policy drivers.
  • Relevant experience of project management
  • Experience of developing professional working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Good ICT skills including Microsoft applications and specialist systems.
  • Well-developed visual presentation skills including effective use of presentation software
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Research, analysis, interpretation and evaluation skills, demonstrating the ability to identify and diagnose problems/issues / requirements and develop solutions.
  • Understanding of public sector procurement systems and processes.
  • Ability to support and manage work related to multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise appropriately
  • Able to work to and meet deadlines
