About the role:
This is a pivotal new role within our Housing team, bringing together strategic management of our Estate Services and Place Services teams. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the strategic development of our caretaking and grounds maintenance service, delivered directly by our in-house team of over 60 staff. They will also be responsible for our Place team who lead on making sure our communal areas are regularly inspected and maintained to a high standard. This role has been created to bring these two services together to drive our continued focus on improving services to residents.The teams are responsible for delivering high quality services to over 12,500 households in the borough.

About you
As our new Head of Housing Place and Estate Services, you will be a visible leader skilled at collaborating effectively with partners, staff, and residents. You will lead a diverse service focused on keeping our shared housing spaces clean, well maintained and safe and will need to demonstrate a commitment to investing in and developing your service. You will need a good understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework for social housing. You will be both financially and politically astute, able to demonstrate that services provide value for money to our residents whilst maintaining a high level of quality.

Key Responsibilities:
To deliver excellent services for residents which meet or exceed service standards and achieve high levels of resident satisfaction.
To lead, manage and motivate the Housing Place Services and Estate Services Teams, ensuring there is a clear vision for the services, the teams are well trained, and staff are valued.
To develop sustainable and carbon neutral services, through regular reviews of transport and materials used.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Educated to degree standard or equivalent
Relevant professional qualification - Chartered Institute of Housing preferred
