About the job 

We are recruiting to the Learning Disabilities Team (25+). 

Newham’s Adult Social Care Directorate is offering Qualified Social Worker’s the opportunity to make real and lasting change for the Borough’s residents, whilst developing their own skills in assessment, support planning and strengths based practice. We are working to build our own accommodation for resident with LD as well as looking to develop meaningful alternatives to day services.

As a qualified Social Worker with two years post qualifying experience, you will hold a case load where you will implement short – long term interventions, utilising a strengths based approach to ensure that independence and well-being are promoted in the community. Social Workers will routinely undertake social care assessments, reviews and support planning, mental capacity assessments, Continuing Health Care decision support tools and safeguarding enquiries when necessary. You will also be involved in  engaging in more complex situations, including making applications to the Court of Protection.
