A vacancy has arisen in Exchequer Services (Payments & Revenue Team) for an Exchequer Officer Scale 6. Joining a team of 7, you will be working closely with colleagues, so team player qualities are a prerequisite.
This post will focus on activities associated with Council income and the financial reconciliation of income to Council funds and systems which include SAP, Civica, Civica CX (Housing) and ASH Debtors ensuring appropriate records are maintained.
The successful applicant is expected to provide a professional, knowledgeable and effective service to all customers. You will use your initiative and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities will include:
- The allocation of customer payments to customer accounts using the Council’s income management software Pay360.
- Reconciliation of the Council’s main funds which include Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Rents, Leaseholders and Debtors.
- Processing of daily BACS files relating to all Council Services.
- Participation in the Team daily tasks rota which includes activities like download payment files.
The successful applicant will be expected to possess good MS Office 365 skills and particularly substantive Microsoft Excel Skills (sorting and filtering, data cleaning, formulas and functions, conditional formatting, and text to columns). Full training on the software outside of MS Office 365 the Team uses will be provided.
