Swimming Coach
Hours: 33 hours per week, 8.45 to 16.30 (Monday to Thursday with 1 hour lunch/breaks) 8.45 to 15.30 (Friday with 45 minute lunch/break) 41 paid weeks per year (inc 60 hours over 4 weeks holidays).
Grade: APTC Scale 6, Spinal Points 18-20
Actual Salary: £27,552 - £28,415 p.a. (£32,925 - 33,957 p.a. FTE) + SEN Allowance + Nominated First Aider Allowance
Contract: Permanent, Term Time
We are searching for a reliable and engaging swimming coach to join our school. The swimming coach’s responsibilities include analysing swim techniques and determining skill levels, developing swimming programs, educating swimmers on various techniques and styles, and overseeing training.
To be successful as our swimming coach, you should be empathetic, patient, and understand that swimmers have varying abilities.
The candidate will need to organise and direct a timetable of creative swimming activity sessions which motivate and engage students from Reception to Year 11 with severe and complex learning, physical and other needs and difficulties. The role will also encompass the organisation and delivery of after school and holiday swimming sessions for Havering SEND students.
You will need to be an effective professional who has authority and control in a swimming pool environment, keep students and staff safe and take responsibility for their own professional development.
The candidate will need to develop external community swimming opportunities for key stage three and four students.
The role requires you to act as lifeguard and to be responsible for the cleanliness and water safety of the pools.
