Role Purpose

Tower Hamlets is one of the fastest growing, culturally vibrant, and diverse areas in the country and as a council we are continuously striving to provide the highest quality services for our residents.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, hardworking, self-motivated, and committed individual to join the Financial Assessment team within the Resource Directorate and bring their skills and knowledge of residential/nursing and charging community-based services. This position is to cover maternity leave for a period of 12-month on a Fixed Term Contract.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conducting a means tested financial assessment of the financial affairs of clients who are eligible for Residential, Nursing, Extra care, and Non-Residential services to determine their ability to contribute towards the cost of the care being provided in line with the Care Act 2014.

Requirements

  • Knowledge and or understanding of the Department for Works and Pension criteria for accessing appropriate State Benefits is required.
  • Manage high volumes and conflicting priorities.
  • Strong numerical and IT skills.
  • Providing guidance and support with Financial Assessment cases to Social Workers, Health Professionals, Clients, and their Representatives. 
  • Demonstrate a variety of communication skills to ensure the best interests of our clients are always managed.
  • Working in a systematic and methodical way.
