About the Team:

The Valuation and Strategic Assets (VASA) team is part of the wider Climate and Inclusive Growth directorate.  The team is focussed on the strategic utilisation of land and assets. The council’s assets and properties are also critical to service delivery across health, children’s services, leisure, libraries and schools.

VASA is a diverse team of multi-disciplinary professionals, providing support and expert advice across the Council, as well as working closely with the Council’s external partners such as the NHS. The team drives revenue generation in the commercial investment portfolio as well as enabling social value to be delivered from community assets, and ensuring assets are safe and properly utilised. 

About the Role:

The role will ideally suit an individual who thrives on variety. You will be involved in all aspects of Landlord and Tenant work, leasing and general estates management, as well as disposals, including development agreements. Working across a range of stakeholders both internal services, the voluntary community sector, as well as business tenants, you will be a self-starter and able to identify and communicate opportunities to drive value and ensure that assets are properly utilised.

Ideally you will be MRICS qualified, but it is not essential provided you can demonstrate extensive experience and technical expertise in commercial and/or corporate estates management. Report writing skills and presenting to senior management and cabinet members will be key, together with an understanding of the Local Authority environment. You will be experienced in all aspects of Landlord and Tenant work and have solid understanding of H&S legislation. Being a Registered Valuer may also be beneficial.
