Salary range: £35,031 - £36,567 p.a. incl. London weighting
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time

The Post
Come and join the Education Welfare Service as part of a team you will work closely with Education Welfare Officers issuing Education Penalty Notices (EPN). EPNs are issued to both parents when they take their child on an unauthorised holiday in term time or when a child has persistent unauthorised absence over a period of time.
You will work closely with the finance teams and Education Welfare Officers (EWO) to ensure the efficient issuing and receiving of fines. You will take a professional informative approach to speaking to parents about their concerns and have a good understanding of the reasons why EPNs are issued and be able to explain these to parents with confidence. You will also communicate with parents over the phone, by email and letter. An important aspect of this job is keeping accurate and timely records on the Synergy database and using your excellent IT skills and data analysis to compile reports. You will have the opportunity to use your excellent communication skills and creativity by designing and make presentations at workshops for school staff.
The Person
We are looking for someone to make an impact by taking responsibility to look at ways of improving service deliver and liaise with other teams within the council, schools and parents to ensure that the customer experience runs smoothly. The successful candidate will make decisions and prioritise their work on a daily basis, they will understand the job's purpose and carry out their duties in line with service policies and procedures. They will have an excellent understanding and experience of using finance systems.
