Service Manager for Enfield Children’s Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH)

Enfield Council is seeking a Service Manager to manage and develop the Enfield MASH Service. Enfield MASH is our front door for Children’s Social Care and Early Help. The service has a well-developed multi-agency partnership with key safeguarding partners co-located.

Our Enfield Centre of Excellence provides dedicated support to the Children and Family Service, and this includes support from the Practice Lead, Principal Social Worker, Social Work Practice Mentor, ASYE Consultant and the Learning and Development Manager.

As a Service Manager, you will be a key member of the extended senior management team. You will manage and supervise 4 team managers/practitioners and support them in their professional development. Your day-to-day will involve overseeing the MASH, maintaining close proximity with the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) with a potential of an alignment. You’ll be the go-to person for making sure our collaboration with other agencies is positive and effective. If there are any issues, you’ll step in, challenge, support, and educate our partners to meet our standards.

As Service Manager we are looking for:

- a strong understanding of what best good practice looks like and be passionate about inspiring and improving children’s lives, as well as the continuous professional development of social work practitioners and team managers.
- have a demonstrable track record of leading, motivating and managing teams and programmes to achieve significant, sustainable service improvements and outstanding results
- proven experience of leading and delivering statutory services.
- excellent communication and relationship development skills.
- demonstrable experience of influencing and negotiating at a senior level.
- able to use and analyse performance data effectively to support our work with children and families.
- demonstrable experience in providing regular reports to the MASH Governance Board about performance including highlights, exceptions and progress on any areas requiring remedial action and improvement.
- have a proven track record of managing a high performing team through effective management.

About you:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Qualified and registered social worker (SWE)
- Knowledge of what excellence looks like and champion best practice and have a thorough working knowledge of relevant legislation and local, regional and national practice that underpins child protection work
- A visionary leader with a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of children and families
