About the role:

We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and innovate Revenues Team Leader to manage our dedicated, high-performing revenues team, within our Audit, Fraud and Revenues and Benefits Service.

Experience of working within the Council Tax and Business Rates legislation is essential.

As part of the Revenues management team, you will play a pivotal role in the leadership and management of the Council Tax and Business rates team, where you will be expected to maximise the income to the Council by delivering a professional, efficient and high quality service.

You must have proven leadership and management skills and able to meet tight deadlines and changing priorities to achieve set targets.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the motivation, development and direction of the team, to ensure timely and accurate delivery and delivering value for money services.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure team meet set performance targets and quality of work is maintained to a high standard

Identifying opportunities to continuously improve service delivery through technology, including processing automation and AI

Ensuring staff adhere to all data application policies and procedures and compliant with legislation for Council Tax and Business Rates Administration and Enforcement

Ensure the protection of the public purse with regards to the award and monitoring of Exemptions, Discounts and Reliefs

Supervisory responsibility for up to 9 staff

Qualifications and Requirements:

Experience of directly managing and leading a Council Tax or Business Rates team.

Detailed working knowledge of

Knowledge of Housing and Council Tax Benefits/Support legislation

Experience of using a document management system and a core processing system within a Revenues and Benefits Service.
