About the role:
London Borough of Waltham Forest is embarking on a project to roll out Automatic Meter reading devices across its electricity metering portfolio, covering operational stock, housing and schools. This is to enable more accurate data gathering and ensure the Borough is future proofed for its energy needs. With a wide and varied portfolio, we require a project coordinator to ensure the roll out goes smoothly, including scheduling and planning installations and to organise enabling works at site level. You will need to be a good communicator and highly motivated, working with many different stakeholders both within the Council and externally. You will need to be flexible and able to travel around the Borough.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for a responsible Project Coordinator to administer and organise an AMR Rollout project, from simple activities to more complex plans.
Project Coordinator responsibilities include working closely with our Project Managers and 3rd party contractors to prepare comprehensive action plans, including scheduling, timeframes and budgets for the AMR Rollout programme. You will perform various tasks, like schedule and risk management, along with administrative duties, like maintaining project documentation and handling site access queries. To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you'll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.
Ultimately, the Project Coordinator's duties are to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget and meet high quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate project management activities, resources, and information
- Arrange site access and liaise with 3rd party contractors
- Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management
- Analyse risks and opportunities
- Oversee project procurement management of 3rd party enabling works
- Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
- Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
- Work with the Project Manager to eliminate blockers
- Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures of 3rd party contractors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
To be considered for this position, you should meet the following requirements:
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role
- Experience in project management, from conception to delivery
- An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans
- Solid organisational skills, including multitasking and time-management
- Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with risk management and quality assurance control
- PMP / PRINCE2 certification is a plus
- Highly professional, organised, resourceful and with a good eye for detail
- Strong Excel Skills and Microsoft software knowledge.
- Ability to use discretion, ensure confidentiality and exercise professional judgement
- Strong team player who works collaboratively and inclusively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Able to prioritise tasks and work under time limits to deliver a service specification
- Ability to deal with multiple requirements effectively to deliver best value and maximise outcomes to deadlines
- Able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders and colleagues at all levels within the organisation and externally
- This post demands a high level of flexibility, a positive attitude and ability to adapt to changes due to service needs. This post is office based and will require the post-holder to work at other sites and frequently travel around the borough.
