The Electoral Commission is the independent body which oversees elections and regulates political finance in the UK. We work to promote public confidence in the democratic process and ensure its integrity.
The Role
We are recruiting for a Senior Education officer who will deliver our education projects that promote democratic engagement. This role is part of our Voter Engagement team who play a vital role in ensuring that voters have the knowledge and confidence to participate. The team delivers co-created, evidence-based projects in the youth and community sectors.
This is a permanent, full-time position which in the first instance will take on responsibilities to cover our existing Senior Education Officer while on maternity leave. After this period, the position will expand in scope to take on new responsibilities, making this an exciting and varied role.
In this role you will:
- Manage meaningful partnerships across the youth, education and community sector.
- Co-create resources and projects with partners.
- Encourage participatory practice across the Electoral Commission, by supporting our Youth Voice Network
- Deliver training to front line staff who engage with voters, for example teachers and youth practitioners.
About You
We are looking for an experienced education officer who is passionate about active citizenship and participation.
You will inspire and engage learners of all ages in the democratic process.
You will be experienced in partnership working, resource creation and citizenship education.
