The role

Are you passionate with a drive to make a positive impact to the lives of children and families?

Southwark Family Early Help (FEH) provides early help through a whole family approach based on collaboration with families and with partners from schools, health, children’s services and the community.

We have available x1 permanent and x1 fixed term contract for 12 months in our 11+ Service.

This is an exciting opportunity for a practitioner seeking to develop their skill and expertise in supporting families in need, to prevent problems and difficulties escalating to the stage that statutory or legal intervention is required.

You will deliver outstanding support to families where children are at risk of poor outcomes. The role involves providing early intervention to prevent issues from escalating, supporting families transitioning from statutory services, and developing comprehensive family plans to ensure child safeguarding, school attendance, and positive citizenship. You will engage directly with families, promoting sustainable change through a balanced approach of challenge and support.

About you:

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant academic or professional qualification at Level 4 or higher.

You will have a track record of working holistically with children, young people and families within a whole family model. You will be a highly skilled practitioner who will demonstrate your extensive capability in engagement, undertaking comprehensive whole family assessments which create clear goals, and your use of evidenced informed practice.

You will be required to demonstrate your skillset to act as a ‘lead professional’ and the importance of working purposefully and collaboratively with all family members and other agencies to achieve best outcomes for children. You will have an awareness of education issues and understanding of how to work with schools and families to drive engagement of children and families in educational attendance and ambition.

You will have strong assessment skills and be adept in developing creative, aspirational whole family plans.
