The Directorate of Communities, Environment and Central prides itself on the service it provides to the residents of Royal Greenwich. We are looking to recruit someone with commitment and drive who will work hard to help the Royal Borough maintain its reputation for excellent Waste, Street Cleansing and Enviro-crime Enforcement services.
You will take a supporting role in the procurement of new contracts and the management and monitoring of existing contractual arrangements covering waste collection, waste disposal, street cleansing and enviro-crime enforcement to ensure the Council gets full value for money from all its contractors. The Council is soon to commence the procurement of multimillion-pound disposal contracts which will offer a great opportunity for someone who has a keen interest in procurement and can offer the right support and skills in this project.
The Council is currently in the process to adopt a new municipal waste strategy and your role will be to assist in the process to ensure it remains in line with the Council's climate emergency agenda, with national and regional environmental strategies to achieve its strategic environmental ambitions.
You will need to have significant knowledge and experience in waste management and have a proven track record in achieving positive outcomes.
Excellent data interrogation skills, via the use of Microsoft Office products, are essential. Disposal contracts involve a lot of complex data and the candidate must have the ability to manipulate this data as required. Your duties will also include interpreting contract data to assist in financial projections and operational efficiencies.
The ideal candidate will have a flexible approach to work and a great attention to detail.
You will work a 35-hour standard Monday to Friday week.
