About the Team:

The Private Sector Enforcement and Regulations (PSER) team has responsibility to the 34% of Lambeth’s housing stock which is in the Private rented sector. While the majority of properties in the PRS are well maintained and safe, we are looking like minded officer to join our team to help us to utilise all available tools to improve the situation for residents in private rented accommodations. PSER team here at Lambeth has a wide and vital remit and covers all areas of the borough as it relates to privately rented properties. The team is dynamic and made up of fellow officers who covers crucial functions such as HMO Licensing, Enforcement of Privately rented properties, Empty Properties and High Rise Building for Fire safety issues. 

Joining the team as the Enforcement Team Leader you will be making a positive contribution towards improving the health and environment of the Borough by means of advice, education, and assist with enforcement action and helping up to tackle and stamp out Rogue landlords in the Borough.

About the Role/Candidate:

This role would suit an individual who is pro-active, dynamic and resilient with relevant skills and experiences to work in our Private Sector Enforcement Team. Someone can lead the team, provide supervision and direction as required, may also be required to deputise for the service manager. 

The ideal candidate should have the drive to improve the private sector housing stock by responding to complaints, giving advice, carrying out inspections and where necessary enforcing provisions of legislation relating to private sector housing and public health issues. 

You should also be able to deliver a customer focused, high quality service in accordance with the agreed service specifications, business plan, service level agreements and the requirements of legislation, delegated powers, Council policy and Standing Orders and officer codes of practice.
