About Us:

Communities, Governance & Change Directorate:

A new Communities, Governance & Change Directorate has been established to strengthen capacity and resource at the centre of the Council in order deliver on our Lambeth 2030 ambitions, including:​

• Ensuring a relentless focus on our Lambeth 2030 aspirations with collective ownership and improved delivery of priorities, driven by a strong centre
• Bringing people together across the Council to tackle and make progress against shared priorities, including our commitment to becoming a Borough of Equity & Justice
• Coordinating a more joined up offer to the community around engagement, funding, access to help and support that puts our communities, their experiences and outcomes to the forefront of our approach
• Injecting challenge into the system, ensuring robust governance and delivering change 

Working alongside a talented, professional group of staff that are dedicated, ambitious and focussed, we are looking to recruit to a number of key roles to help us deliver our ambitions:

Head of Community Engagement and Participation – PO9 Salary: Up To £73,818 pa

You will be leading on the delivery of a council wide approach to participation and engagement, improving our understanding of residents’ experiences to better inform council strategy, policy development and delivery through the development and maintenance of relationships with key neighbourhoods and communities.  You will also lead on the delivery of a strong strategic relationship with the voluntary and community sector ensuring a healthy VCS system that supports, connects, engages and empowers people.
