The Role
Join the City of London Corporation as a Skills and Capability Officer where you will manage the delivery of the comprehensive learning and development programme for the wider team. Working with the Project Standards Manager to support, coach and educate the delivery teams and wider Commercial, Change and Portfolio Management team.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management and facilitation of the Project Management Academy, developing and maintaining the course content to ensure it remains relevant.
- Coordinate the development of a P3M learning framework working with colleagues in Corporate Learning and Development to provide a coherent programme of learning.
- Manage the administration of the Project Management Academy supporting learners to access the programme and move through the levels at an appropriate pace.
- Support the commissioning of project-related learning opportunities managing consultants and third-party suppliers to ensure corporate learners are able to access learning opportunities when needed.
- Conduct regular training needs analysis to understand learner requirements to inform the wider corporate learning and development programme including a new corporate induction.
- Develop a framework for a structured approach to mentoring and coaching across the project delivery profession, helping people find the support they need throughout their careers.
- Support the development of P3M standards, processes and procedures in line with the Corporation’s policies, systems and governance framework and based on best practice.
- Facilitate discussion, debate, feedback and buy-in from user community to generate a continuous improvements roadmap for P3M.
About you
You may hold a professional project management qualification and hold experience in designing and delivering organisational-wide project-related learning opportunities and managing diverse learning programs. Excelling in supporting learners with varied needs, producing engaging written materials, and conducting training needs analyses to enhance corporate learning. Your background will include managing commissioning budgets and working with external consultants and learning providers in large organisations. Additionally, you will have a proven ability to achieve results through effective partnership and cross-party collaboration, leveraging influence beyond direct management lines. You will hold knowledge of local government and the wider public sector further supports my capability in this field.
In addition, you will understand P3M standards and methodologies and a track record in delivering in a complex and sometimes nuanced environment.
