The Role

Join the City of London Corporation as a PMO Analyst where you will oversee multiple programmes and projects for the City of London Corporation. This role provides crucial insights and support to enhance portfolio governance and prioritize decisions effectively. The analyst aids managers in delivering City of London priorities by offering informed insights and analysing data. Key activities include managing project workstreams, maintaining risk registers and programme plans, mapping dependencies, tracking deliverables, preparing reports, and implementing process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-quality documentation and analysis for all projects, including programme dashboards, Gantt Charts, and Risk Registers, ensuring Senior Officers and Members are well-informed for decision-making.
  • Provide expert Programme Management analysis for the EPMO, manage critical workstreams (e.g., environmental surveys, planning applications), and maintain risk registers and programme plans in alignment with project requirements and interdependencies.
  • Monitor programme budgets, spending, and forecasts, share information efficiently, identify and escalate issues, propose solutions, and alert relevant officers to significant budget variances and forecast changes.
  • Implement and advise on consistent, high-quality Programme tools across the portfolio, enhancing corporate competency in programme management techniques.
  • Write comprehensive committee reports for senior officers, clearly distilling complex risks and dependencies, and ensuring Elected Members have all relevant information for oversight.
  • Provide senior officers and stakeholders with detailed analysis of programme, financial, and risk data, summarizing complex issues and proposing appropriate mitigations and solutions.
  • Keep accurate records of meetings to support effective programme management, including action logs and timescales, and ensure team members agree on actions and responsibilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of PPM governance, controls, and assurance frameworks using personal initiative.
  • Collaborate with finance colleagues to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across the EPMO.

 About you

You may hold a professional qualification in data analytics or project management and hold experience in project management offices, leading programme coordination and administration, and managing projects or significant parts of the project lifecycle. Using both waterfall and agile methodologies and have provided metrics and control information to project managers and senior management. Working effectively under demanding deadlines, prioritizing my workload with minimal supervision, and have experience in complex political environments, interacting with Elected Members. Having successfully delivered projects, programmes, and business change initiatives, working collaboratively to achieve results and establishing productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will possess excellent knowledge of project management tools, techniques, strategies, and processes, and can apply these effectively. I am skilled in analysing complex data, making recommendations, and have strong IT skills with expertise in PMO software, Microsoft Office, and Power BI. Additionally, I have excellent programme coordination, administration, and organizational abilities.
