The Role

Join the City of London Corporation as a Junior Analyst where you will provide essential research and data analysis to ensure the integrity of the Corporation’s information and systems. Using data to build detailed, timely, and accurate reports, establish tolerances, escalation triggers and investment gateways you will play a pivotal role within the wider Corporate, Change and Portfolio Delivery division. Collaborating with senior officers and Elected Members you will work on refining governance and reporting structures that measure key performance indicators, business intelligence and manage risk.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the design and provision of a wide range of reporting, project management and research services to senior management.
  • This role is critical in supporting central operations, management, budgets and governance across the Commercial, Change and Portfolio Delivery division.
  • Provide essential research and data analysis for divisional operations and corporate transparency, including handling Freedom of Information requests and data protection. Analyse and maintain integrity of complex data from internal and external systems.
  • Generate detailed, accurate reports using data analysis, and establish thresholds, escalation triggers, and investment strategies.
  • Lead development and maintenance of standard management reports for Committees and senior boards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including senior officers and Elected Members, to refine governance and reporting structures across all division functions.
  • Work with the Commercial, Change, and Portfolio Delivery division to develop key performance indicators, management intelligence, and risk management strategies.
  • Manage and update the Divisional risk register on the corporate risk management system and oversee the Committee reporting process to ensure timely and high-quality reports.

About you

You will hold a relevant data analytics or project management qualification and have experience working in governance reporting frameworks in a large-scale complex organisation. Your experience will include managing robust data analysis functions, responding to both scheduled and urgent demands while prioritising effectively. Excelling with comfort developing both qualitative and quantitative performance measures, utilising public sector data and commercial market insights. You will have some exposure to reporting to Boards and Committees, effectively communicating complex datasets to non-technical audiences. In addition to this, you will hold a proven track record of successful partnership working, achieving results through influencing stakeholders beyond direct management lines.
